Background

We are writing you, not as a promotion of our small business, but as a fellow human being who shares in the grief and sorrow of September 11^th.

We are passionate regarding a remembrance the tragedy. This is not going to be a quick fix. It is going to take all the unity and resolve we Americans can muster. Our idea is simple, yet we believe powerfully effective sending a clear message to the world AND more importantly, a message to those who did us harm or are considering it in the future!!

We want to send a message via American High Tech (billion dollar corporations to mom & pop web sites) by having EVERY web site in this country send visual, "consistent", clear message to the world EVERY time someone calls up a web site.

This is not going to be a 100 day war. These horrible people took years, not days or months, to plan and execute (a meaningful word to use) this atrocity. We Americans need to be timelessly resolved and have complete solidarity as a people to overcome this tyranny. A flag on a web site may have been there before the event. A displayed "Web Ribbon" (big or small) leaves no doubt in the site visitor's mind that it was put on that page for a specific reason. Telethons, fund raising, bake sales are fantastic and will help the families of the victims. But we think a clear symbolic message showing up on our Nation's web sites 24/7/365 will send a definite message.

The Web Ribbon's message is really meant for two audiences. The first audience targeted (a perfect choice of words) is all of those who committed this atrocity as well as those who have committed or are planning other atrocities like it. The second audience is the families, friend and co-workers of the victims of this tragedy. The Web Ribbon by its graphic, consistent, meaningful design, actually visually screams...as a country with all our life and breath....we are resolved, we are solidified, we will remember and we will never forget!

Everyday people visit our our web sites from all over the world, not just from the United States. We at RingDesigner.com get visitors from 10 to 20 different countries every day. Therefore, web sites from major corporations receive visitors from thousands of countries each day. So why not put an image on our web site and every web site in the United States to send a clear message to the world! We have all been made aware via the news media as to how the "new technology" helped the perpetrators of this atrocity. Cell phones, e-mail, web sites and the Internet have all been mentioned often. So let us use some of this same technology to send a message to the world that we as Americans are united. Just as our Moms & Dads, Grandmothers and Grandfathers put their flag up every day during WWII until their sons, daughters, friends and neighbors came home. So let us put up a common symbol through the end of this year that shows how we as a Nation are truly united and how strong is our resolve." We Americans want to let everyone in this world know, we will always Remember our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, family, neighbors and friends who lost their lives, who are missing or who were injured. We Americans want to also let everyone in this world know, we also never will Forget the images of our national tragedy. We will not stand for it. Americans seek Justice either through the courts or with our powerful military might!
