Rings And Bridal Sets...Question:
What is the difference??
We get asked this question several times a
week by prospective Customers during our phone or e-mail conversations.
So we are glad that it could be addressed here for you and others to benefit.
Engagement Rings
Traditionally, the Engagement Ring has been a single
mounting (the ring is referred to as a "mounting") usually with
a larger single center diamond-with no other diamonds or gems on the
mounting. The most common of the Engagement Ring styles is commonly
referred to as a Solitaire. It is the most simple of the Engagement Ring
styles made popular by Tiffany & Co. in the '30's. A Solitaire is a
mounting with only your center diamond elevated above the band and held in
place by either four or six prongs. We feature Solitaires on the very
first page of our Engagement Ring Section.
However, engagement rings can be signified by
any size or shape of diamond ring that holds the special significance of a
marriage proposal. Then for your wedding ceremony, a separate wedding ring
can be used. It is usually a ring of one of the styles referred to as
Half Round, ComFortfit, Milgrain, Flat, Duo or one of many other styles that
may conform to the shape of the various engagement rings. To get an idea of

Engagement
Rings can go from the simple Tiffany up to very unique designs
incorporating multiple additional diamonds or gemstones (and hundreds of
designs in-between to match all tastes).
Bridal Sets
Bridal Sets are a combination of both your Engagement Rings (Mountings) and your Wedding
Rings or Wedding Bands. These items are especially designed to fit together and
almost appear as one when worn on your wife's finger. Again, these
unique designs can go from very simple to highly unique with the addition
of multiple diamonds or gemstones.
