We originally crafted and shipped a fun project in 2002. 

The image below [B1-TQengraving] in section [A] , is a men’s 14k Yellow Gold ComfortFit band.  Our Customer asked us to set  three high quality VS diamonds in it.

In 2002 a new Customer asked us to engrave his 2 bands using a font called "Tengwar Quenya".  The "Elvish" alphabet, font and language is based upon the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (basically called "Elvish" letters or runes).     Even the little marks that go above the characters (called "tehta") actually represent vowel sounds and cannot be left out.

Officially the first set of His and Her Bands we crafted translates into English: "One ring. One life. One love." 

Engraving in Elvish has become a popular option.  We have come a long way in this expertise and crafting since the original  2 bands in 2002. It is fun and interesting to view the various creations we have crafted for our customers. Scroll down and view all the variations and options.  It costs nothing to look. 

And even though it is not for everybody, it is very unique and interesting as well as demonstrates our work.

Accurate Tengwar Quenya transcribing:

Some customers wish to have their own unique text of phrase engraved by hand using the Tengwar Quenya font.  To do this, we ask you would provide to us your desired phrase (or text) in English by e-mail (we need it documented in writing rather than verbally over the phone).  We then utilize the talents of a prominent and renown Elvish orthographer who is one of the most recognized designers of authentic Tolkien-inspired fonts.  His name is Daniel Steven Smith.  Dan assists us to accurately transcribe your English words and phrases by correctly using the Elvish alphabet; specifically using the "Tengwar Quenya" font.   It is very interesting and wonderfully fun to visit one of the Dan’s many web sites.   The site we enjoy the most of Dan's is this URL: http://www.geocities.com/fontmaster.geo/. 

We will then send back to you Dan’s transcription of your phrase in the form of an non editable image.   That way you have a copy for your records.  That image will be exactly what our Master Jewelers will engrave by hand on your band.  We charge a fee of $25 for this transcription of your phrase by Dan Smith.  Here is a recent example transcribed by Dan for one of our customers:

There is limited room on the inside of a band for normal engraving.  For Tengwar Quenya or any other Elvish font, it is even more difficult.

Here are the reasons why that you may not have considered:

• Some engagement mountings and very thin bands are just not wide enough. Looking at your ring, with your hand pointed straight up in a North/South, the North/South dimension of width, across the ring, for some phrases on the inside surface would be illegible. The engraved letters or numbers can not be high enough. (2.0mm wide is extremely difficult, 2.5mm is difficult, 4.0mm or wider is best).

• There are legal "stampings" inside the ring for Trademarks and precious metal content (such as "14k" for gold, "PLAT" for platinum and others). Working around these is not an easy task.
  • Therefore we must limit the amount of characters to be engraved on the inside of a band to 26. The 26 charter limit INCLUDES spaces.

• Due to the difficulty of hand engraving the Elvish fonts inside a ring, we charge a flat fee of $350 to do so.
