Think of our
Engagement Rings Upgrade
Program |
| Many
of our Customers are just starting out in life, some are still in
school at the time they purchase their engagement rings.
However, from humble beginnings and through hard work, many will
become very successful and much more financially fit 5, 10 and 15
years after their original engagement date. At that point they may be thinking, "I wish we could have afforded a larger diamond back then, but it just wasn't possible". More importantly, real world obligations, such as rent, food and maybe even diapers were |
| the priorities in the first years. "But now we can afford something larger." Remember, only diamond "size" be the consideration, as RingDesigner.com only sells certified diamonds of high quality. The original diamond quality would not be an issue. |
Please, remember to visit our Understanding Diamonds page. |
This is
why RingDesigner.com has instituted our |
| [1] When you buy from us, we will database all the information regarding your mounting, your certified diamond and the purchase of one of our engagement rings or anniversary rings. | |||
| [2] If, someday, you would like to upgrade, contact RingDesigner.com by e-mail (in writing) letting us know you are considering "upgrading" your original diamond as purchased, set in one of our engagement rings or anniversary rings. | |||
| [3] We will contact you by e-mail in writing, documenting the prices and specifications of your original purchase. We will document your diamond's certificate number as well as all the specifications of your diamond. | |||
| [4] You will receive back from us by e-mail attachment, an "agreement of understanding" as to how we will proceed to replace your diamond. It includes the information on your original diamond, what steps are bring taken in this upgrade process as well as any anticipated costs setting a new diamond on your original ring (if it has to be modified, see step #8). The agreement of understanding basically outlines what is being communicated here (but with specifics for your upgrade). You will be asked to sign the agreement of understanding and fax it back to us. | |||
| [5] We will then arrange to have your original diamond included on our Tel Aviv database for sale. It can then be viewed by thousands of diamond buyers around the world. We will have beforehand, documented the minimum price that you want to get for the diamond in the agreement of understanding. | |||
| [6] During this time, the diamond and your ring remain in your possession You will not be sending your valuable asset to us without a documentd process of replacement. We do not want you to have any feeling that your diamond is in limbo. It is there with you until it is sold. | |||
| [7] As soon as your original diamond is sold, we will notify you immediately by e-mail. We will ask you to FedEx overnight (at our expense), your ring & Diamond. | |||
[8]
You will ship your ring back
to us via FedEx at our expense. We will provide you with all
the shipping and FedEx information at that time. This
process allows you to be notified, by date and time, that we received
your ring.
The original RingDesigner.com Product Certificate of Authenticity must accompany the ring in your package. No upgrade will be accepted or performed on the original ring without the Product Certificate of Authenticity being returned. Please retain a copy for your records. |
| [9] You can choose the diamond from our database to replace your diamond in its mounting (the ring part). We will obtain the new diamond and give credit against the price of the new diamond equal to the full amount that your original diamond just sold for. | |||
[10] RingDesigner.com
will remount your new, larger or higher quality diamond of your choice
in your original mounting engagement ring or anniversary ring for $125
for Gold or $160 for Platinum as long as the new diamond
"fits" your original "setting" (the
precious metal part with the prongs that actually secures
your diamond on your mounting). Most upgrades will work
just fine on your original setting. But, for example, if you have been
incredibly successful, a new upgraded 2.0CT diamond might not
"fit" in your original 0.25CT setting. There possibility
could be a
charge to modify for adding a larger setting to your
original mounting required for your new, larger diamond.
This information, of course, will be provided to you prior to making your decision to upgrade. This would also be in the agreement of understanding, so it would be no surprise as to what has to be done or if there will be any anticipated costs for changing from the original diamond to the new one of your choice. |
| [11] A RingDesigner.com employee will open your "sealed" package in the presence of an independent third party, certified gemologist. In this manner, an independent party verifies that the ring and diamond received in your sealed package match the quality and specifications of your original purchase. After immediate examination by the independent third party gemologist, if there are any issues of quality, damage or diamond specifications, versus your original purchase, we will contact you immediately. The original ring and diamond must be the same exact items in the same excellent condition as you originally received from us. | |||
| [12] We will remove the original diamond and mount the new, larger one. We will polish your mounting and place it in a new fine jewelry gift box. You will be issued a new Product Certificate of Authenticity reflecting the increased value of your ring. Your upgraded ring, with all the documentation regarding your new diamond, will be shipped back to you via FedEx . You will receive an e-mail that your upgraded ring has been shipped so that you may anticipate delivery. | |||
| [13] Of course all our quality guarantees come with your new upgraded diamond. But, as you could imagine, our 30 day return policy does not apply. A person may have their original ring for years, then upgrade, then ask us for a refund for the new higher price. We had it happen! | |||
That
is how our RingDesigner.com First Purchase Upgrade Program works.
